Books & Authors I Love

I've always been a book worm, but toward the end of college I really fell in love with reading! It all started with my oldest sister and "Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood." For some reason that book reconnected us. The characters in the book helped me to see her in a new light. The book helped me identify with her stage of life, thus helping me see her more clearly.  That's what books do! That is what I try to teach my students each year: reading helps you see the world around you more clearly.

Here is my list of favorite authors:

Harper Lee - To Kill a Mockingbird
Rebecca Wells (didn't love all three books in the series though)
Max Lucado: everything
Beth Moore: everything
Francine Rivers: Redeeming Love; Mark of the Lion Series
Kathy Hepinstal: The Absence of Nectar, House of Gentle Men
Kathi-Kamen Goldmark: And My Shoes Keep Walking Back to You
Kathy Patrick: Pulpwood Queens Guide to Life
Denise Hildreth-Jones: The Savannah Series got me started and I love her more recent books even more. Her characters have matured since Savannah.
Charles Martin - He is soooo good!!!!! Read everything!
Michael Morris - Slow Way Home, Live Like You Are Dying
Marshall Chapman - Goodbye Little Rock N Roller
C.S. Lewis
J.K. Rowling - genius
Kelle Hampton
Pat Conroy - South of Broad, The Great Santini
